 Radu Enache was appointed HP Country Manager for Romania and Head of the Enterprise System Group in May 2002.Radu began his career with HP in 1993 being responsible with developing the partners network for High Performance Systems, a joint venture HP/Voest Alpine Inter Trading.
Moreover, it was in 1994 when Radu took over new challenges as commercial channel manager for S&T Romania, the sole authorized HP distributor in Romania at that time. He also continued his activity as associate professor with the Electrical Engineering Chair for the Electrical Engineering Faculty within the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, a career that began in 1971. Prior to joining HP, Radu published six books and about 50 articles and specialty publications.
Loyal to its belief “concrete results made the world more tangible”, Radu Enache participated in building up the information society when the first representative office of HP has been opened in Romania, fall 1997.
Under Radu’s leadership, within three years the company grew from three to 30 employees in sales, support, consulting, retail, and finance roles. In addition, the capabilities of its direct partners were significantly improved. During that time HP won numerous projects, comprising a broad portfolio of customers from government (Romanian Government & Senate, Ministry of Education) to telecom (Mobifon/Vodafone, Mobilrom/Orange), to banking (Romanian Commercial Bank, Romanian Bank for Development), and utilities (Romanian Railways, Termoelectrica), among others.
And in 2002 the world continued to flatten, once the HP’s merger with Compaq Computers Corporation has been made. Radu became responsible with the management of the new company at the national level, also taking over the coordination of the Enterprise System Group department.
Playing hard but playing fair, the organization of Romania has been recognized consecutively in 2004, 2005 and 2006 by Hewlett-Packard company for achieving the status of European Emerging Markets Country of the year.
Nowadays, HP Romania employs more than 1400 employees and has an experienced and successful channel partner network, 7 wholesalers, 30 Preferred Partners and app. 500 indirect partners.
